Lost Colony of Naboo
The final project for the Virtual Worlds course in the game development graduate program at the University of Utah. The project is a unique level based off the mechanics and design of a published game. The students recreated the mechanics and designed and built a level within the theme of the original game. This level uses the force mechanics from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to explore a lost colony on Naboo. Custom textures were not permitted, however solid colors and texture effects were allowed.
魔弦:Magical Strings
Music is magic in this fantastical fighting game set in ancient China. Created by students at the University of Utah's Entertainment Arts and Engineering program, "魔弦: Magical Strings" offers players an alternative controller experience. The unique controller is modeled after traditional Chinese instruments to connect the player with the musical combat of "魔弦: Magical Strings", currently available on steam. Alternate controller not required.
Koriko Toybox
The final project for the Production 2 course in the game development graduate program at the University of Utah. The level is designed using models and textures created by everyone in the course. Each student was responsible for a required number of population pieces, terrain pieces, functional traps or bombs, and the textures for all assets. Using these assets each student must create a game play experience and unique level using as many different assets created by the class.
Hidden Hollow
A project for the Virtual Worlds course in the game development graduate program at the University of Utah. The level is designed with only walking and jumping in mind to emulate a real world location we studied. The project explored molecule maps and creating whiteboxes with bsps in Unreal.
Monkey Temple
A project for the Virtual Worlds course in the game development graduate program at the University of Utah. The level is designed with only walking and jumping in mind using a block as our only asset. We were not allowed to transform the block in any way or include textures outside of flat colors. The goal was an interesting level with these restrictions.
Smeeowg Mountain: A Song of Quality and Assurance
The final level of the 2020 Global Game Jam game "A Song of Quality and Assurance". This is the climax of the story where our hero must find a way to outwit Smeeowg and reach the portal in the mountain. In addition to team efforts to organize and create the concepts of our game, I fully designed the final level and its effects.
